The web-based "Medical care cost information"

To increase everyone's interest in medical care costs, the Health Insurance Society used to distribute paper documents every month that included details on medical care costs to insured persons and dependents who had received medical consultations at medical care institutions, etc., however in July 2018, the Society began providing a web browsing service to enable everyone to more easily check such information.

The web-based "medical care cost information" is more convenient than notices in writing.

  • The information can be viewed anytime, 365 days a year.
  • All details related to medical consultations and treatment can be viewed, regardless of the amount.
  • As the amounts for up to the past two years are available to view, the information can be used to estimate medical expenses deductions, etc.

"Medical expense deductions application data" for final tax returns through e-Tax

  • When using the National Tax Agency's e-Tax service, ""medical expense deductions application data"" linked to e-Tax can now be downloaded using the ""Medical Care Deductions"" button.
  • Notes on using the service are available on the website, so please read them carefully.
  • If you have any questions related to final tax returns, including medical expense deductions, or would like details on the necessary procedures, please inquire with your nearest tax office.
These details can also be found on the National Tax Agency's website.

Benefit details

  • Benefit details can be confirmed online.
  • As was the case until now, paper documents will also be distributed to eligible members. Therefore, the name of the notice will be changed from ""Notice of Medical Care Costs and Insurance Benefits"" to ""Notice of Payment Decision Regarding Insurance Benefits.""

Notices on generic medicine

If there are multiple generic medicine alternatives available, a table will be displayed showing the generic medicines that reduce the cost by the least and by the most.

You can also check whether any of your insurance premiums are being wasted.

Please check for any differences on the receipt (medical treatment details) you received from the medical care institution, including the number of consultation days and the claim amount. If the receipt details differ, it is possible that the medical care institution has billed you incorrectly for medical expenses. If you have any questions about the included details, please contact the Health Insurance Society.
